Geography is concerned with the spatial dimension
of Geographic Phenomena and interconnection of humans and
environment. Studying geography is nurturing sensitivity for our
neighbours, society and the world. It also enables us to understand
the spatial pattern, to adopt and manipulate physical environment
with wise decisions and to solve geographical problems in daily
People who have spatial and ecological perspectives can appreciate and make use of information of world issues and build good relationship with physical environment. Therefore, geographic knowledge and skills help in developing our economy, to use resources more efficiently and keep the environment in good shape.
The present day problems of the society and the contribution of the discipline to the solutions and the employability of the graduates in line with the comments of the stakeholders have all been taken into consideration in designing the present curriculum. In response to the stakeholders comments special emphases have been given to the environment (natural resource), the application of modern tools and techniques in geographical/ environmental research.
