The Department of Architecture, Dire Dawa Institute of Technology presented its thirty three (33) pioneering batch of architecture students for 2008 E.C academic calendar.
Dire Dawa University bestowed the degree of B.Sc. in Architecture to 9 female and 24 male graduates during the graduation ceremonies on February 20, 2016, at the Blue Hall, Dire Dawa University.
Guest of Honor for the event HE. Dr. Kaba Urgessa, State Minister for Ministry of Education, DDU Senate members, DDIT Faculty, graduates’ parents, relatives and friends graced the occasion. Other stakeholders, like Mr. Wondessen Demrew – President of Association of Ethiopian Architects and Dr. Job Kasule, International Scientific Coordinator for Texas Tech University, enjoined the ceremony.
The top awardees for the graduates namely Ement Kassaye (GPA 3.54), Dawit Kassaye (GPA 3.34), Etenesh Mulushewa (GPA 3.33), Yosef Dagne (GPA 3.31), and Berhe Haile (GPA 3.26), were rewarded with appreciation from the attendees of the event.
The bachelor program in architecture is structured within five years study time (plus the one-semester internship) and ends up with the senior essay, complying with the academic requirements of the European practice and the international criteria of the UNESCO/UIA Charter for Architectural Education.
