Department of Physics organized Physics second round Olympiad on May 9, 2015 inside Red Hall. During the event more than 215 students and teachers coming from 34 different Dire Dawa Administration schools were participated.
In his opening speech, Dean of School of Natural and Computational Science, Ato Bamlaku Simagne said that organizing such event would boost a culture of positive competition among school students towards physics subject, and help to create students who have positive interest towards science in general; that this in other ways would serve us lay foundation to meet a 30/70 policy of higher institutions.
The event organizer, Head of the Physics Department, Ato Solomon Zerihun, remarked that by maintaining its quality year after year, Physics Olympiad will continue serving students of the Dire Dawa Administration schools in physics matters and contribute its best in retaining the declining result of physics subjects among school students.
Power point presentations and question and answer session on physics subject were presented. At last students who won the physics question competition were awarded.
